Description of the Pond of Kawthar
Hadith 548
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، نا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَأَذُودَنَّ رِجَالًا عَنْ حَوْضِي كَمَا يُذَادُ الْغَرِيبَةُ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ عَنِ الْحَوْضِ.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Him in Whose hand is my soul! I will surely drive away some people from my Hawd (the Pond of Kawthar) just as stray camels are driven away from a pond."
Hadith 549
أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ، نا شُعْبَةُ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ، قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: كَمَا يُذَادُ الْغَرِيبَةُ، أَحْسَبُهُ عَنِ الْحَوْضِ.
Muhammad bin Ziyad narrated: I heard Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then he narrated similar to the previous hadith. Shu’bah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated: Just as strange camels are driven away, I think he said: ... from the reservoir.
