Giving land for cultivation
Hadith 459
اَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرٌ (و): فَذَکَرْتُ ذٰلِكَ لِطَاؤُوْسٍ، فَقَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: اِنَّمَا قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: لَاَنْ یَّمْنَحَ اَحَدُکُمْ اَخَاهٗ الْاَرْضَ، خَیْرٌ لَهٗ مِنْ اَنْ یَّأْخُذَ لَهَا خَرْجًا مَّعْلُوْمًا.
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If any of you gives a piece of land to his (Muslim) brother without compensation, it is better for him than taking a fixed rent from him."
