Hadith 417
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، نا مُعَاوِيَةَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ لُدَيْنٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ يَوْمُ عِيدٍ فَلَا تَجْعَلُوا يَوْمَ عِيدِكُمْ يَوْمَ صَوْمِكُمْ إِلَّا أَنْ تَصُومُوا قَبْلَهُ أَوْ بَعْدَهُ)).
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "Friday is a day of Eid, so do not make your day of Eid a day of fasting, unless you fast a day before it or a day after it."
Hadith 418
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، نا مُعْتَمِرٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((لَا تَصُومُوا يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِلَّا أَنْ تَصِلُوهُ بِصِيَامٍ)) قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ: وَالرَّجُلُ هُوَ زِيَادٌ الْحَارِثِيُّ أَبُو الْأَوْبَرِ، هَكَذَا قَالَ جَرِيرٌ وَالْمُعْتَمِرُ.
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "Do not fast on the day of Friday unless you join a fast with it (fast one day before or one day after)."
