Hadith 405
أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ، إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ، إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ)) ، قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ: فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ، قَالَ: ((فَإِنَّكُمْ فِي ذَلِكُمْ لَسْتُمْ مِثْلِي إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي، فَاكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْأعْمَالِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ)) .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "Avoid wisal, avoid wisal, avoid wisal." They said: O Messenger of Allah! You observe wisal (fasting continuously without breaking the fast), so he (peace be upon him) said: "You are not like me in this matter. I spend the night while my Lord feeds me and gives me drink. So perform only as many deeds as you have the strength for."
