Hadith 347
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) fixed Dhu’l-Hulaifah as the miqat for the people of Madinah, Juhfah for the people of Syria, Qarn al-Manazil for the people of Najd, and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen, and he said: “These are (the miqat) for the people of those places and also for those who are not residents of those places but pass through them. These are the miqat for those performing Hajj and ‘Umrah. Whoever’s family lives within the miqat, then he may enter into ihram from wherever he wishes, even the people of Makkah will enter into ihram from within Makkah itself.”
Hadith 348
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) fixed Dhu’l-Hulaifa as the miqat for the people of Madinah, Juhfa for the people of Syria, Qarn for the people of Najd, and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen. These are for the residents of those places and also for those who are not their residents but pass through them. These are for anyone who intends to perform Hajj or Umrah. And whoever’s residence is within the boundaries of the miqat, he should enter into ihram from his own house, even the people of Makkah from Makkah itself (should enter into ihram).
