Prohibition of hunting and eating hunted animals while in Ihram
Hadith 341
اَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَکْرٍ، اَنَا ابْنُ جُرَیْجٍ، اَخْبَرَنِی الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ طَاؤُوْسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَدِمَ زَیْدُ بْنُ اَرْقَمَ، فَقَالَ لَهٗ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، وَهُوَ یُذَاکِرُهٗ: کَیْفَ اَخْبَرْتَنِیْ اِنَّ لَحْمًا اُهْدِیَ لِلنَّبِیِّ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَرَامًا؟ فَقَالَ لَهٗ: نَعَمْ، اَهْدٰی لَهٗ رَجُلٌ عُضْو لَحْمِ صَیْدٍ، فَرَدَّہٗ وَقَالَ: اِنَّا لَا نَاْکُلُهٗ، اِنَّا حُرُمٌ.
Tawoos (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) came, so Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said to him, while reminding him: How did you tell me that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in the state of Ihram, meat was gifted to him? So he said to him: Yes, a portion of game meat, so he returned it and said: "We will not eat it, because we are in the state of Ihram."
Hadith 342
اَخْبَرَنَا سُفْیَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِیِّ، عَنْ عُبَیْدِاللّٰهِ بْنِ عَبْدِاللّٰهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، اَنَّ الصَّعْبَ بْنَ جَثَّامَةَ اَهْدٰی لِرَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَحْمَ حِمَارٍ وَحْشِیٍّ، وَهُوَ مُحْرَمٌ فَرَدَّهٗ، فَلَمَّا رَاٰی الْکِرَاهِیَةَ فِیْ وَجْهِهٖ قَالَ: ((لَیْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَیْكَ، وَلٰکِنَّا حُرْمٌ۔)).
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sa'b bin Jaththamah (may Allah be pleased with him) presented the meat of a wild donkey as a gift to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was in the state of Ihram, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned it. When he saw signs of sadness and displeasure on his face, he said: "We do not return your gift except that we are in the state of Ihram."
