Hadith 332
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed Dhu’l-Hulaifah as the miqat for the people of Madinah, Juhfah for the people of Syria, Qarn for the people of Najd, and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen, and said: “And whoever lives within the miqat, he may begin (ihram) from wherever he wishes (i.e., from whichever place he wishes to enter into ihram).”

Narrated by Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed Dhu’l-Hulaifa as the miqat for the people of Madinah, Juhfa for the people of Syria, and Yalamlam or Al-Malam for the people of Yemen, and said: “These are the miqats for the people of those places, and for anyone whose family lives within these miqats, he may set out from wherever he wishes (and assume ihram from there).” And he said: “These (miqats) are for the residents of those places and also for those who are not residents but pass through them, until they reach the people of Makkah.”

Tawoos (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prescribed the Miqat, and the narrator mentioned similarly, and said: And as for the residents of the city who live within the Miqat, they may assume Ihram from wherever they wish.
