Animals that are permissible to kill in the Haram
Hadith 327
اَخْبَرَنَا جَرِیْرٌ، عَنْ لَیْثِ بْنِ اَبِیْ سُلَیْمٍ، عَنْ طَاؤُوْسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسِ عَنِ النَّبِیِّ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَعَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِیِّ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: خَمْسٌ هُنَّ فَوَاسِقٌ، یُقْتَلْنَ فِی الْحَرَمِ، وَیَقْتُلُهُنَّ الرَّجُلُ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ: اَلْفَارَةُ وَالْعَقْرَبُ، وَالْکَلْبُ الْعَقُوْرُ، وَالْحِدَأْةُ، وَالْغُرَابُ.
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "There are five animals that are wicked; they may be killed even in the Haram, and a person in the state of Ihram may also kill them: the rat, the scorpion, the biting dog, the kite, and the crow."
