Statement about offering the two sunnahs of Fajr briefly
Hadith 238
أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعٌ، نا يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّسْتُرِيُّ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُومُ فِيهِمَا قَدْرَ مَا يَقْرَأُ فَاتِحَةَ الْكِتَابِ يَعْنِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ.
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to stand in the two rak'ahs before Fajr for a duration equal to the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah.
Hadith 239
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الضَّبِّيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ السُّكَّرِيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مُرَّةَ الْجُعْفِيِّ، عَنْ شُرَيْحٍ الْعَرَاقِيِّ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: مَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْنَعُ بَعْدَ الْوِتْرِ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَنْ يَسْتَاكَ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ.
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to only use the miswak after performing Witr, and then he would offer two light rak'ahs.
