Minimum conditions for being a Muslim
Hadith 176
وَبِهَذَا، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((مَنْ صَلَّى صَلَاتَنَا وَاسْتَقْبَلَ قِبْلَتَنَا وَأَكَلَ ذَبِيحَتَنَا وَصَامَ شَهْرَنَا، فَذَلِكَ الْمُسْلِمُ لَهُ ذِمَّةُ اللَّهِ وَذِمَّةُ رَسُولِهِ)).
With this same chain, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever prays our prayer, faces our qiblah, eats our slaughtered animals, and fasts in our (month of) Ramadan, then this person is a Muslim; for him is the protection of Allah and His Messenger."
