Prohibition of offering nafl or sunnah after the iqamah
Hadith 172
أَخْبَرَنَا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ الْمَكِّيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي زَكَرِيَا بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلَا صَلَاةَ إِلَّا الْمَكْتُوبَةُ)) .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "When the iqamah for prayer is given, then there is no other prayer except the obligatory prayer."
