Virtue of the muadhdhins (callers to prayer)
Hadith 140
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، نا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((الْمُؤَذِّنُونَ أَطْوَلُ النَّاسِ أَعْنَاقًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ)).
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "The callers to prayer will have the longest necks on the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 141
قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ، وَنا مَنْصُورٌ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ أُنَيْسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((يُغْفَرُ لِلْمُؤَذِّنِ مَدَّ صَوْتِهِ، وَيُصَدِّقُهُ مَنْ سَمِعَهُ مِنْ رَطْبٍ وَيَابِسٍ، وَلِلشَّاهِدِ عَلَيْهِ خَمْسٌ وَعِشْرُونَ حَسَنَةً)).
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "Wherever the voice of the muezzin reaches, he is forgiven up to that point; every wet and dry thing that hears him bears witness to him, and for the one who offers prayer in congregation after hearing the adhan, there are twenty-five good deeds."
