Hadith 138
أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ بَرَكَةَ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ نَهِيكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ فِي الدَّعَاءِ حَتَّى يُرَى إِبِطَاهُ، قَالَ أَبِي: أَرَى ذَلِكَ فِي الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ.
Narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to raise his hands (so much) while supplicating that his armpits would become visible. He said: I think this was during the prayer for rain (Istisqa).
