Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The truest statement in the poetry of the Arabs is the saying of Labid: Behold, everything except Allah is false (perishable)."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "The truest statement that the Arabs have spoken is the statement of Labid (the poet): Listen! Everything except Allah is false (perishable)." Umayyah bin Abi Salt was close to accepting Islam.
