Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
In another hadith, it is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "When Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, created Paradise, He said to Jibreel (Gabriel), 'Go and look at it.' So he went and looked at it, then came back and said, 'O my Lord! By Your honor! Whoever hears about it will surely desire to enter it.' Then Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, surrounded it with hardships (makruhat).
'The deeds that must be performed to enter it, and the religious obligations that must be accepted, generally the natural disposition is not inclined towards them, or one will have to endure hardships for remaining steadfast upon the path of truth.'
He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: Then when He created the Hellfire, He said to Jibreel, 'Go and look at the Hellfire.' He went and looked at it, then came back and said, 'O my Lord! By Your honor! There is no one who hears about it and would then wish to enter it.' Then Allah, the Exalted, surrounded it with desires (shahawat) and pleasures (marghubat). Then He said, 'O Jibreel! Go and look at it.' He went and looked at it, then came back and said, 'O my Lord! By Your honor and Your majesty! I fear that no one will be able to escape entering it.'"
(Sunan Abi Dawood, Kitab al-Sunnah, no. 4744. Its chain is hasan.)
The statement of Allah, the Exalted, is:
﴿فَاَمَّا مَنْ طَغٰی() وَآثَرَ الْحَیَاةَ الدُّنْیَا() فَاِِنَّ الْجَحِیْمَ هِیَ الْمَاْوٰی() وَاَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَی النَّفْسَ عَنِ الْهَوٰی() فَاِِنَّ الجنة هِیَ الْمَاْوٰی﴾ ( al-Nazi'at: 37–41)
"...So as for him who transgressed and preferred the life of this world, then indeed, Hellfire will be his abode. But as for him who feared standing before his Lord and restrained his soul from (its) desire, then indeed, Paradise will be his abode."
