Hadith 970

Narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: "O Allah! I seek refuge with You from hunger, for it is a bad companion, and I seek refuge with You from betrayal, for it is a bad confidant or he said a bad sign."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
➊ The mentioned supplication is very comprehensive; therefore, a person should continue to ask Allah for it, because often hunger causes a servant to become heedless of the remembrance of Allah. Thus, one should continually seek refuge with Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, from such hunger that leads to disbelief.
➋ ... He (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) used to seek refuge from treachery, because it is an evil confidant and a bad companion and associate. The meaning is that when the treachery of a treacherous person is exposed, the person becomes infamous and is disgraced and humiliated in society.
