Statement about the long shade of the trees in Paradise
Hadith 958
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، نا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: ﴿وَظِلٍّ مَمْدُودٍ﴾ [الواقعة: 30] "، قَالَ: زَعَمَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: إِنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ لَشَجَرَةً يَسِيرُ الرَّاكِبُ فِي ظِلِّهَا مِائَةَ عَامٍ مَا تَقْطَعُهَاقَالَ: مَعْمَرٌ، وَأَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: وَاقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ ((وَظِلٍّ مَمْدُودٍ)).
It is narrated from Qatadah, may Allah have mercy on him, regarding the statement of Allah Almighty: "long shade," he said: Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "In Paradise, there is a tree under whose shade a rider can travel for a hundred years, but he will not be able to reach its end." Mu'ammar said: Muhammad bin Ziyad informed me that he heard Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrate the same from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Then Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, said: If you wish, recite the statement of Allah Almighty: "And extended shade."
