Statement about avoiding arrogance
Hadith 919
أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، وَجَرِيرٌ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنِ الْأَغَرِّ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " يَقُولُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: الْكِبْرِيَاءُ رِدَائِي وَالْعِزُّ إِزَارِي، فَمَنْ نَازَعَنِي وَاحِدًا مِنْهُمَا قَظَمْتُهُ أَلْقَيْتُهُ فِي النَّارِ ".
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "Allah says: Grandeur is My cloak and honor is My «إزار», so whoever tries to snatch either of them from Me, I will throw him into Hell."
