Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "The person who hears a word of wisdom and understanding, but takes what he hears in a bad manner—his example is like that of a man who comes to a shepherd and says: O shepherd! Give me a goat from your goats for meat. The shepherd says: Go and catch the best goat. So he (goes and) grabs the ear of the herd's dog."
