Hadith 906

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever accuses his slave of something while he is innocent of that accusation, then on the Day of Resurrection, the prescribed punishment will be established upon him."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
Slandering is a very grave crime and among the major sins, as the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Beware of the seven destructive sins (among them he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned): Slandering chaste, unsuspecting, believing women.” (Bukhari, no. 6857)

Regarding those who slander, Allah the Exalted says:
“…And those who accuse chaste women and then do not bring four witnesses—flog them with eighty lashes.”

From the aforementioned ahadith, it is understood that if a slave slanders his master, while the master is innocent of the accusation, then the prescribed punishment (hadd) will be applied to the slave. And if the master slanders the slave, then the prescribed punishment (hadd) will not be established upon the master in this world (there is consensus among the scholars on this). (Tawdih al-Ahkam: 6/260)

However, on the Day of Judgment, he will not be saved from punishment. If the slave has actually committed the crime, then the slave will be punished. Those who, out of arrogance over their ownership, oppress their slaves and servants should take a lesson from the aforementioned hadith.
