With this same chain, it is narrated from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "Before the Day of Resurrection, there will be tribulations like pieces of a dark night. In those tribulations, a man will be a believer in the morning and a disbeliever in the evening, and if he is a believer in the evening, he will be a disbeliever in the morning. In them, people will sell their religion for a small portion of worldly goods and possessions."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits: The meaning of the aforementioned hadith is that a person may be characterized by faith in the morning and adorned with righteous deeds, but by evening he may be found trapped in the mire of disbelief and engaged in acts of disbelief. Another interpretation is that in the morning he will consider the things prohibited by Allah to be forbidden, but by evening he will regard them as permissible.
The point is that circumstances will take such a turn that a person will not even realize how he has changed; he will appear almost unconscious of it. Therefore, one should frequently recite this supplication: ((Allahumma musarrif al-quloob, sarrif quloobana ila ta‘atik))... “O Allah! Turner of the hearts! Turn our hearts towards Your obedience.”
