Explanation & Benefits

Benefits: From the aforementioned hadith, it is understood that among the various forms of acceptance of supplication (du'a) mentioned in the Qur'an and Hadith, two are as follows: ➊ The supplication of the oppressed: When a person is wronged and he supplicates (makes du'a) against the oppressor, at that moment there is no barrier between his supplication and Allah, the Possessor of Majesty. ➋ The second form of acceptance of supplication is to pray for a Muslim in his absence. The importance and virtue of supplication can be gauged from the following narration.
It is narrated in Sahih Muslim from Sayyiduna Abu Darda’ radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: ((The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence is accepted. At his head is an appointed angel; whenever he supplicates for good for his brother, the appointed angel says: Ameen, and for you the same.)) (Sahih Muslim, Kitab al-Dhikr wa’l-Du‘a’ wa’l-Tawbah wa’l-Istighfar, Chapter: The Virtue of Supplicating for Muslims in Their Absence, No. 2732)
