Supplications of the Prophet ﷺ
Hadith 830
أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُقْرِيُّ، نا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حُجَيْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْصَى سَلْمَانَ الْخَيْرَ، فَقَالَ: " إِنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَمْنَحَكَ كَلِمَاتٍ تَرْغَبُ فِيهِنَّ، وَتَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ الرَّحْمَنَ وَتَدْعُو بِهِنَّ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ، تَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ صِحَّةً فِي إِيمَانٍ، وَإِيمَانَا فِي خُلُقٍ حَسَنٍ، وَنَجَاحًا يَتْبَعُهُ فَلَاحٌ، وَرَحْمَةً مِنْكَ وَعَفْوًا، وَمَغْفِرَةً مِنْكَ وَرِضْوَانًا ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) advised Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) towards goodness and said: "I wish to grant you a few words; be eager for them, ask Allah the Most Merciful for them, and supplicate with them day and night. Say: O Allah! I ask You for faith with well-being, for faith with good character, and for salvation after which there is success and mercy from You, pardon and forgiveness from You, and Your pleasure."
