Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “The right of hospitality is three days; whatever is beyond that is charity. And it is not lawful for the guest to stay on after that so as to cause harm to the household.” And I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “Whoever supplicates to Allah, He accepts his supplication: either He grants him what he asked for quickly, or He forgives his sins in proportion to his supplication.” Provided he does not supplicate for a sin or for severing ties of kinship, and he does not hasten. It was asked: O Messenger of Allah! How does he hasten? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “He says: I supplicated to my Lord, but He did not accept my supplication, or I am not in need of anything.”

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits: ➊ Hospitality is a right for three days. After that, it is charity. The guest himself should be considerate of the host and should not put anyone in difficulty.
➋ ... From the aforementioned hadith, it is also understood that whoever supplicates, his supplication is accepted, but this occurs in different forms: either it is accepted immediately, or sins are forgiven in proportion to it—provided that the supplication is not for sin or severing of kinship.
In another hadith, it is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri radi Allahu anhu that the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “When any Muslim supplicates with a supplication in which there is nothing sinful or for severing of kinship, Allah, the Exalted, grants him one of three things: (1) Either his wish is fulfilled according to his supplication, (2) or He stores it as a reward for him in the Hereafter, (3) or He averts from him a calamity equal to it.” The Companions radi Allahu anhum said (upon hearing this): “Then we will supplicate abundantly.” The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Allah’s treasures are abundant.” (Mishkat al-Masabih by al-Albani, no. 2259)
It is thus known that one should always continue supplicating, because every permissible supplication of a Muslim is certainly accepted. Whenever and however Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, wills, the effect of the supplication will manifest in this world or the Hereafter according to His wisdom.
