Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you of a treasure from among the treasures of Paradise beneath the Throne? Allah says: My servant embraced Islam and he obeyed Me completely."
Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
The aforementioned hadith establishes the virtue of saying "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah" (There is no power nor strength except with Allah). This phrase comprises obedience, humility, and entrusting one’s affairs to Allah. A person does not possess ownership over anything in his own affairs. Without Allah’s will, he has neither the power to repel harm nor the strength to attain good. Through the phrase "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah," divine assistance is sought. In another hadith, our master Qays bin Sa‘d bin ‘Ubadah radi Allahu anhuma narrates: The Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam passed by me and said: “Shall I not inform you of one of the gates of Paradise?” I replied, “Why not?” He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: ((La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah)). (Sunan al-Tirmidhi, no. 3816. Shaykh al-Albani rahimahullah has declared it authentic.)
