Hadith 822

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "Every prophet has a supplication that is accepted; when he supplicates, his supplication is granted and whatever he asks for is given to him. As for me, I have reserved my supplication for the intercession of my Ummah on the Day of Resurrection."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
In this hadith, the virtue of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is mentioned, which he possesses over all other messengers: that he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam sacrificed this specific supplication for the sake of his entire ummah, foregoing it for himself and his family. (Sharh Sahih Bukhari by Ibn Battal: 10/75)

In this hadith, there is also an expression of the Prophet’s sallallahu alayhi wa sallam perfect compassion for the ummah, in that he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has postponed this accepted supplication for the intercession of the ummah until the difficult moments of the Day of Resurrection... In this, there is also evidence against those who claim that anyone from Ahl al-Sunnah who dies upon pure tawhid and does not associate partners with Allah will remain in Hellfire forever, even if he dies persisting upon major sins. (Sharh Sahih Muslim by al-Nawawi: 3/63)
