Hadith 809

Umm Tariq, the freed slave woman of Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him), narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him), and he sought permission to enter. Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) remained silent. Then he sought permission again, and he remained silent again. Then he sought permission a third time, and he remained silent again, so he turned back. Then Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) sent me to him. When I reached the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I said to him: We only intended that you would increase us (in supplication for peace). She said: I heard the sound of someone seeking permission at the door, but I did not see anything. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Who are you?” She said: I am Umm Muldim. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “No welcome for you. Can you guide (us) to Quba?” She said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Bring them.”
