Benefits of cheerfulness and good character
Hadith 800
أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُؤَمَّلُ، نا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو عَبَّادٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((إِنَّكُمْ لَا تَسَعُونَ النَّاسَ بِأَمُوَالِكُمْ فَلْيَسَعْهُمْ مِنْكُمْ بَسْطُ وَجْهٍ وَحُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ)).
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "By Him in Whose hand is my soul! You cannot enter Paradise until you become believers. And you cannot become believers until you love one another. Shall I not tell you about something which, if you do it, love will grow among you?" They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" He (peace be upon him) said: "Spread salam (greetings of peace) among yourselves."
