Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits: From the aforementioned hadith, the greatness and loftiness of gentleness are established, because it is an attribute of Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, which is greatly beloved to Allah that His servants deal with one another with gentleness. And Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, gives on account of gentleness what He does not give on account of harshness. From the perspective of benefits and interests as well, a person should adopt an attitude of gentleness and kindness in his relationships and dealings.
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha radi Allahu anha that the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Whenever gentleness is found in something, it adorns it. And whenever it is removed from something, it renders it defective.” (Muslim, Kitab al-Birr, No. 2594)
In another hadith it is stated: ((مَنْیُّحْرِمُالرِّفْقَیُحْرِمُالْخَیْرَ)) (Muslim, Kitab al-Birr wa al-Silah, No. 2592; Sunan Ibn Majah, No. 3687) ... “Whoever is deprived of gentleness is deprived of all good.”
