Benefits:
➊ From the aforementioned hadith, it is understood that one should adopt humility and modesty, and should deal with one another with compassion, love, and affection. If Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, has blessed someone with wealth and riches, then he should express gratitude to Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, and not, due to this, become arrogant and proud, considering others insignificant. Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, granted the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) the greatest honor, yet despite this, Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, said: ﴿وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ﴾ (Ash-Shu‘ara: 215).... “(O Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) lower your wing (i.e., be gentle and humble) to those believers who follow you.”
➋ ... From the aforementioned hadith, it is also understood that it is not permissible to transgress against one another. The statement of Allah, the Exalted, is: ﴿إِنَّمَا السَّبِيلُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَظْلِمُونَ النَّاسَ وَيَبْغُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ﴾ (Ash-Shura: 42).... “Indeed, blame is only upon those who wrong people and transgress upon the earth without right; those will have a painful punishment.”
If a person oppresses another, then it is permissible to take retribution from him, provided that the oppressed does not exceed limits against the oppressor. As Allah, the Exalted, says: ﴿وَلَمَنِ انتَصَرَ بَعْدَ ظُلْمِهِ فَأُولَٰئِكَ مَا عَلَيْهِم مِّن سَبِيلٍ﴾ (Ash-Shura: 41).... “And whoever defends himself after having been wronged—there is no blame upon them.”
