Benefits: From the aforementioned hadith, it is understood that Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, does not look at anyone’s appearances or wealth; rather, with Allah, the standard is the piety (taqwa), righteousness, and faith (iman) of the hearts. The statement of Allah, the Exalted, is:
﴿یٰاَیُّهَاالنَّاسُاِنَّاخَلَقْنَاکُمْمِّنْذَکَرٍوَّاُنثَیوَجَعَلْنَاکُمْشُعُوبًاوَقَبَائِلَلِتَعَارَفُوْااِِنَّاَکْرَمَکُمْعِنْدَاللّٰهِاَتْقَاکُمْ﴾ (al-Hujurat: 13) “O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may know one another. Indeed, the most honorable of you in the sight of Allah is the most pious (God-fearing) of you.”
