Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits: From the aforementioned hadith, it is understood that attaining the attribute of mercy is a great blessing, whereas being deprived of the attribute of mercy is a sign of great misfortune, because mercy is removed from the hearts of hard-hearted and wretched people. The Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Whoever does not show mercy to people, Allah does not show mercy to him.” (Adab al-Mufrad, no. 375. Shaykh al-Albani rahimahullah has declared it authentic.)
In another hadith, it is narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Amr radi Allahu anhu from the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam: “The Most Merciful shows mercy to those who are merciful. Show mercy to those on the earth, and the One in the heavens will show mercy to you.” (Sunan Abi Dawud, no. 4941)
