Hadith 753

Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "There was a tree on the road which was a cause of trouble for the people, so a man cut it down and removed it from the path. Because of this, he was forgiven and admitted into Paradise."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
From the aforementioned hadith, it is understood that benefiting people and removing their difficulties carries immense reward, and such people are greatly beloved to Allah Dhul-Jalal. As it is mentioned in the hadith, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: ((Allah is in the aid of the servant as long as the servant is in the aid of his brother)) (Sahih Muslim, Book of Remembrance and Supplication, No.: ...) “Allah, the Exalted, remains in the help of the servant as long as the servant remains in the help of his brother.”

From the above hadith, it is also understood that even providing a small benefit to the general public can become a means of entering Paradise.

In another hadith, it is narrated that Sayyiduna Abu Barzah al-Aslami radi Allahu anhu stated: I said, O Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam! Tell me of an action that will admit me to Paradise? He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Remove harmful things from the path of people.” (Al-Adab al-Mufrad by al-Bukhari: 228; Shaykh al-Albani rahimahullah has declared it authentic)

It is thus understood that harmful things should not be placed on pathways, such as throwing garbage on the road, relieving oneself there, or narrowing the pathways—these things cause harm to people, so one should avoid them.
