Hadith 733

It is narrated from Abu Nazrah that a woman asked Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): How did you prepare nabidh for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? She replied: We used to soak dates for him at night, and he would drink it the next morning.

Benefits:
From the mentioned hadith, it is understood that if nabidh is prepared in the morning, it should be consumed by night; if it is prepared at night, it should be consumed by morning. In another narration of Sahih Muslim, it is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhuma) that nabidh would be prepared for the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). He would drink it on that day, and also on the second and third day; then, if any of it remained, it would be discarded. (Muslim, no. 2004; Abu Dawud, no. 3713)
