Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
It is understood that the Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and the noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum) initially faced great hardships, yet the Companions (radi Allahu anhum) still adhered to and remained steadfast upon the religion of Islam. At times, the situation would become such that even eating dates was not possible, as is narrated from Sayyiduna Nu'man ibn Bashir (radi Allahu anhuma) that Sayyiduna Umar (radi Allahu anhu) mentioned the worldly wealth and means that people had acquired (in greater abundance compared to before), and then said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) that he would spend the whole day bent over due to hunger (so that the intensity of hunger would be less felt), and even inferior dates were not available to him with which he could fill his stomach.
