Punishment for wearing gold jewelry
Hadith 709
أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ - صَاحِبُ الدَّسْتُوَائِيِّ - , حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، أَنَّ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتَ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَتْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((أَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ تَحَلَّتْ قِلَادَةً مِنْ ذَهَبٍ جُعَلَ فِي عُنُقِهَا مِثْلُهَا مِنَ النَّارِ، وَأَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ جَعَلَتْ فِي أُذُنِهَا خُرْصًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ جُعِلَ فِي أُذُنِهَا مِثْلَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنَ النَّارِ)).
Sayyida Asma bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The woman who wears a gold necklace around her neck will have a necklace of fire put on her like it, and the woman who wears a gold earring in her ear will have an earring of fire put in her ear like it on the Day of Resurrection."
