Hadith 701
أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَهْمِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَتَتْهُ امْرَأَةٌ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَسِوَارَانِ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((أَسِوَارَانِ مِنْ نَارٍ)) ، قَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ: قُرْطَانِ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((قُرْطَانِ مِنْ نَارٍ)) ، قَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ إِذَا لَمْ تَزَّيَّنَ لِزَوْجِهَا صَلِفَتْ عِنْدَهُ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((فَمَا يَمْنَعُكُنَّ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ قُرْطَيْنِ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ وَتُصَفِّرِيهِ بِعَبِيرٍ أَوْ زَعْفَرَانٍ فَيَكُونَ كَأَنَّهُ ذَهَبٌ)) .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when a woman came to him and said: O Messenger of Allah! Are there two gold bangles? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They are two bangles of fire." She said: O Messenger of Allah! Are there two gold earrings? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They are two earrings of fire." She said: O Messenger of Allah! If a woman does not adorn herself for her husband, she will become undesirable to him. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who has forbidden you from making silver earrings and coloring them yellow with ambergris (compound perfume) or saffron so that they become like gold?"
