Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
From the aforementioned hadith, it is understood that wearing a gold ring is not permissible. In another hadith, it is narrated that Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam radi Allahu anhu reports that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "Gold and silk are made lawful for the women of my ummah, but unlawful for the men." (Tabarani al-Kabir, no. 5125, its chain is authentic)

It is thus clear that women may wear gold, but for men it is forbidden. Out of necessity, gold teeth or a gold nose may be fitted, as ‘Abdur Rahman bin Tarafah narrates that in the battle of Kilab, my grandfather ‘Arfajah bin As‘ad’s nose was cut off, so he had one made of silver, but it developed an odor. The Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam instructed him, so he had a nose made of gold. (Sunan Abi Dawud, no. 4232) Imam Abu Dawud rahimahullah has established a chapter on this hadith: (Chapter: What has been reported regarding binding teeth with gold). It is also permissible to bind teeth with gold.
