Hadith 686

Sayyiduna Usamah bin Shuraik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I was present with the Bedouins when they were asking questions to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Then the narrator mentioned the same (incident), and in it, he narrated this addition: When they stood before him (the Prophet, peace be upon him), they began to kiss his blessed hand. The narrator said: I touched his blessed hand with mine, and it was more fragrant than musk.

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
It is understood that kissing the hands of elders out of respect is permissible, just as the noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum) did with the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), and the blessed hand of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was more fragrant than musk. Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (radi Allahu anhu) narrates that I performed the Zuhr prayer with the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). Then he went towards his home, and I also went with him. Some children came from the front. The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) passed his hand over the cheeks of each of them, and he also passed his hand over my cheek. I felt the coolness and fragrance of the blessed hand of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) as if he had taken his hand out from a box of perfume. (Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Chapters on Virtues, No: 6347)

Whenever the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) would go to his beloved daughter Fatimah (radi Allahu anha), or she would come to him, he (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) would kiss her on the forehead, and she (radi Allahu anha) would kiss his (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) hand.
