Hadith 685

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Usama bin Sharik (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I was present when the Bedouins were asking the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) questions: Is there any harm for us in doing such and such a thing? Is there any sin for us in doing such and such a thing? So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O servants of Allah! Allah has removed hardship/difficulty, except for the one who cuts off a portion from his brother’s honor; so this is the person who has sinned and is destroyed." They said: O Messenger of Allah! Should we seek medical treatment? So he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Seek medical treatment, for Allah has sent down a cure for every disease He has sent down, except death." They said: O Messenger of Allah! What is the best thing that has been given to a servant? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Good character."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
From the aforementioned hadith, the noble character of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is established. Scholars should also bear with patience, with a cheerful countenance, when ignorant or less knowledgeable people ask strange and unusual questions. They should respond to their questions in the best possible manner. It is understood from this that the rulings of Islam are easy and in accordance with human nature.

It is also understood that to be granted good character is a great favor from Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, because such a fortunate person will be the closest to the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) on the Day of Judgment. As it is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (radi Allahu anhu), the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “The most beloved to me among you and the closest to me in assembly on the Day of Resurrection will be those among you who are the best in character.” (Silsilat al-Sahihah, no. 791)
