Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that she complained to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about the occurrence of evil thoughts. She said: O Messenger of Allah! Such thoughts arise in our hearts that it is more beloved to any one of us to fall from the sky than to express such a thought. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is pure faith."

Benefits: From the aforementioned hadith, it is understood that Satan casts such whisperings (waswasah) into the hearts of believing servants that are contrary to faith, which a believer would never tolerate uttering with his tongue in any circumstance. This is because faith resides in the heart of the believer, and Satan is an enemy of faith.
