Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
From the aforementioned hadith, it is understood that the snake with two stripes and the snake with a cut tail should be killed, because both are highly venomous. The "cut-tailed" refers to that snake whose tail is not tapered like other snakes, but rather appears as if its tail has been cut off. The "two-striped" snake refers to a specific type of snake that has two stripes on its back. There are many types of snakes, and some are extremely venomous. Some information has been published from a snake center located in southwestern France about a venomous snake, according to which this one-and-a-half-meter-long snake can kill five people at once with its venom. (Urdu News Jeddah, 17 August 1999)
It is said: The venom-spitting snake of Indonesia is two meters long, and it spits venom like a spray into a human’s eye from a distance of three meters, causing immediate death.
If a snake is seen in the house, it should be warned three times, that is, one should say to it: "Go away." If it does not leave, then after saying it the third time, it should be killed. (Muslim, No. 2236; Sunan Abi Dawud, No. 5257) The wisdom of this narration is understood from this hadith. Sayyiduna Abu Sa’ib narrates: I came to the service of Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id al-Khudri radi Allahu anhu. I was sitting with him when I felt something rustling under his bed. I looked and it was a snake. So I stood up, and Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id al-Khudri radi Allahu anhu asked: "What is it?" I said: "There is a snake here." He said: "So what do you want to do?" I said: "I will kill it." He pointed to a house in front of his own and said: "Indeed, my cousin used to live in that house. On the day of the Battle of Ahzab, he sought permission to come home, as he had recently married. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam granted him permission and said: 'Go armed.' He came home and saw his wife standing at the door. He pointed his spear towards her (intending to strike), but she said: 'Do not be hasty. First see what has brought me out.' So he went inside and saw an ugly snake there. He thrust his spear into it and brought it out while it was still impaled and writhing on the spear. He said: 'I do not know which of the two died first, the man or the snake.' His people came to the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and said: 'Pray that Allah returns our man (to life).' He said: 'Pray for forgiveness for your companion.' Then he said: 'Some jinn in Madinah have become Muslim. When you see any of them, warn them three times. After that, if you intend to kill, then kill after the third warning.'"
