Prohibition of seeking omens (divination)
Hadith 674
أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ سِبَاعِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ كُرْزٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((أَقِرُّوا الطَّيْرَ عَلَى مَكِنَاتِهَا)).
Sayyida Umm Akzar (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "Let the bird remain in its nest (dwelling)." (Do not make it fly for taking omens.)
