Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) said: "Mushroom is a remnant of manna (the food that was sent down upon the Children of Israel), its water is a cure for the eye."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
Man is the name of that natural food which was sent down upon the Children of Israel; it was sweet like honey and, when dried, would become like gum. The mushroom is called "man" because, like man, it is obtained without any effort. Its water is very beneficial for the eyes, as is established from the aforementioned hadith.

Imam Nawawi rahimahullah writes: Its pure water is indeed a cure. He says that he himself has experienced this, and in our times, some blind individuals have also tried it, through which Allah Ta'ala restored their eyesight.

He further says that Shaykh Kamal Dimashqi, who is a teacher of hadith, applied the water of the mushroom to his eyes with sincere belief, and Allah Ta'ala restored his eyesight. Allamah Ibn Qayyim rahimahullah has also mentioned many of its benefits in "Zad al-Ma'ad".

In the aforementioned hadith, it is stated that the Ajwah date is from Paradise. This means that this type of date came to earth from Paradise, just as the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad) was sent from Paradise to earth. It is also an antidote to poison. In another hadith, it is mentioned that Sayyiduna Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas radi Allahu anhu narrates that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "Whoever eats seven Ajwah dates in the morning, neither poison nor magic will harm him." (Bukhari, Kitab al-Tibb, No. 5768, 5769)

Ibn Tulun writes that Ajwah is one of the dates of Madinah, which is larger than the Yemeni date and is somewhat blackish. This date was planted by the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam himself, and perhaps these numerous benefits are due to the blessing of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam planting it, just as he placed two branches on two graves whose occupants were being punished, and he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "Perhaps they will be relieved from punishment as long as these branches do not dry out." So this cessation of punishment was due to the blessing of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. (Al-Manhal al-Rawi fi al-Tibb al-Nabawi li Ibn Tulun: 190)

Imam Khattabi rahimahullah has said: The reason why poison and magic do not affect due to Ajwah is because of the blessing of the supplication of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam for the dates of Madinah, not due to the inherent property of the date itself. (Fath al-Bari: 10/250)
