Intercourse is not allowed after zihar until expiation is made
Hadith 640
اَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُاللّٰهِ بْنُ اِدْرِیْسَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ اِسْحَاقَ یُحَدِّثُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ (سُلَیْمَانَ) بْنِ یَسَارٍ، عَنْ سَلْمَةَ بْنِ صَخْرٍ قَالَ: ظَاهَرْتُ مِنْ اِمْرَأَتِیْ، ثُمَّ وَاقَعْتُهَا، فَاَتَیْتُ النَّبِیَّ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَاَمَرَنِیْ اَنْ اُطِعِمَ سِتِّیْنَ مِسْکِیْنًا۔.
Sayyiduna Salamah bin Sakhr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I made zihar from my wife, then I had intercourse with her. So I presented myself before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he ordered me: "Feed sixty needy people."
