Hadith 632

زَادَ الْفَضْلِ))وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو: عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: ﴿لَا تُخْرِجُوهُنَّ مِنْ بُيُوتِهِنَّ وَلَا يَخْرُجْنَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَأْتِينَ بِفَاحِشَةٍ مُبَيِّنَةٍ﴾ [الطلاق: 1] قَالَ: ((الْفَاحِشَةُ الْمُبَيَّنَةُ أَنْ تَسْفَهَ عَلَى أَهْلِهَا، فَإِذَا فَعَلَتْ ذَلِكَ فَقَدْ حَلَّ لَهُمْ إِخْرَاجُهَا)).
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said regarding Allah Almighty’s statement: «لَا تُخْرِجُوهُنَّ مِن بُيُوتِهِنَّ وَلَا يَخْرُجْنَ إِلَّا أَن يَأْتِينَ بِفَاحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ» “Do not drive them out of their houses, nor should they leave, unless they commit a clear indecency.” In its explanation, he said: «وَالْفَاحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ» This means that she becomes a cause of disgrace for her family, so when she does this, it becomes lawful for them to expel her.
