Lady Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "No woman should mourn for anyone who has died for more than three days except for her husband, for she should mourn for him for four months and ten days. She should not apply kohl, nor wear colored clothes, but she may wear some white and some colored clothes, and she should not use perfume except after completing her menstruation, at the time of bathing, she may use a little bit of Indian aloeswood and azfar (a type of perfume)."
