It is narrated from Ubaidullah bin Abdullah that Marwan bin Hakam sent Abdullah bin Utbah to Sabi’ah (may Allah be pleased with her) so that he could inquire from her about her issue. She mentioned it in the same way as Abu Salamah had described in her case. Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Her husband was Sa’d bin Khawlah (may Allah be pleased with him), who passed away in the year of the conquest of Makkah. He had participated in the Battle of Badr.

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits: From the aforementioned ahadith, it is established that the waiting period (‘iddah) of a widow is four months and ten days. However, if the woman is pregnant, then her waiting period is until delivery (wada‘ al-haml), as is stated in the Word of Allah, the Exalted: ﴿وَاُوْلَاتُالْاَحْمَالِاَجَلُهُنَّاَنْیَّضَعْنَحَمْلَهُنَّ﴾ (At-Talaq: 4) .... “And for those who are pregnant, their waiting period is until they deliver their burden (child).”
The majority of scholars (jumhur ulama) hold this waiting period for a pregnant widow as well. However, a few of the noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum), among whom is Sayyiduna Abu Sanabil (radi Allahu anhu), say: whichever of the two waiting periods comes later should be completed. That is, if a pregnant widow delivers before four months and ten days have passed, then such a woman must complete the four months and ten days. But if delivery does not occur even after four months and ten days, then her waiting period will be until delivery.
‘Allamah Ibn Qayyim (rahimahullah) states: There was initially a difference of opinion among the Salaf regarding the waiting period of a widow, but later there was consensus that her waiting period is only until delivery. (I‘lam al-Muwaqqi‘in: 2/86)
