Hadith 578

أَخْبَرَنَا الْمُؤَمَّلُ، نا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، نا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ فِي مُصْحَفِ عَائِشَةَ: ((فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبَتُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ)).
Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated: I read the verse «فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ» [36-يس:72] of Surah Ya-Sin in the Mushaf of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) as follows: «فَمِنْهَا رَكُوعَبُتُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ».

Explanation & Benefits

Explanation:
From the mentioned hadith, we learn about the various recitations (qira'at) of the Noble Qur'an. It should be noted that these recitations were the dialects of the tribes of that time; whichever word a tribe pronounced in a particular way or accent, the word found in the Qur'an would also be recited in that same manner. The mutawatir recitations (qira'at mutawatirah) are established and authentic, whereas the irregular recitations (qira'at shadhah) are not established.
