Hadith 569

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he passed by Sayyidah Asma bint Umais (may Allah be pleased with her) and said: "Is she the Abyssinian?" By this, he meant the land where they were with Najashi. She (Asma, may Allah be pleased with her) said: "O son of Khattab! Did you intend anything other than this?" Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "You are the best people if you had not lagged behind in migration." She said: "You were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); he used to teach your ignorant and unlearned ones, and provide mounts for your pedestrians. Then I went to the service of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and related this incident to him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'No, rather for you there are two migrations.'" That is, migration to the land of Abyssinia and migration to Madinah.

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Abdush Shakoor Tirmidhi
Benefits:
It is understood that those who migrated from Makkah to Abyssinia and then from Abyssinia to Madinah Munawwarah performed two migrations, and regarding the emigrants, Allah the Exalted has stated: ﴿اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَ الَّذِیْنَ هَاجَرُوْا وَ جٰهَدُوْا فِیْ سَبِیْلِ اللّٰهِ اُولٰٓئِكَ یَرْجُوْنَ رَحْمَتَ اللّٰهِ وَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِیْمٌ ﴾ (, al-Baqarah: 218) .... “Indeed, those who have believed, and those who have emigrated, and those who have striven in the way of Allah — it is they who hope for the mercy of Allah. And Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
